Soustelle, Jacques. The Daily Life of the Aztecs on the Eve of the Spanish Conquest. New York: The Macmillan Company. 1962.

Soustelle was an anthropologist who focused on Pre-Columbian civilizations. Once he became an Agrege he wrote his first major book on the Otomi of Mexico.

Clendinnen, Inga. Aztecs An Interpritation. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press. 1991.

Clendinnen mostly wrote about the Aztecs and Pre-Columbian ritual sacrifice. The basis of her work looks at differences from people to culture and wants the difference to be respected. Some themes that are seen throughout her works are violence, death, and war.
